Thanks man! When I started that project I didn't like the drawing much, but when I started painting alternate areas it started looking better. And in the end even to my surprise it looked a lot better than the drawing.
Sharpie markers come pretty close. I think they have similar effect of applying ink. In first one I used blank ink and used small brush to paint it. It's not easy to work with ink if it's your first time. To get the uniformity you need to create layers to make it uniform and solid black. I think because I have taken a photograph of the picture you might not see some unevenness in the picture. The second one is a painting with acrylic gouache. They are considered to be easy to handle for beginners.
